Switching from onX?
Keep Everything.

Choose how you want to export your data.

Open onX Hunt
Launch the onX Hunt app on your phone and navigate to My Content (the folder icon in the bottom menu).

Tap Select
At the top of your content list, tap the Select button. Then slide up the Select Content panel to see all your waypoints.

Choose Your Waypoints
Tap individual waypoints to select them, or hit Select All to grab everything at once.
You can also select tracks and routes if needed.

Export as GPX
Slide the bottom menu options right to left — you'll see Cancel, Share, Add to Folder — keep sliding until you find Export. Tap it, then tap the folder icon to Save to Files. Then tap Save in the upper-right corner.

Open RidgeLine
Switch to RidgeLine and tap More → Import GPX Waypoints.

Select Your File & Import
Pick the GPX file you just saved. Preview your waypoints, edit names or icons if you want, then tap Import. Done.
RidgeLine automatically detects onX icons and colors and maps them to the right categories.

Open onX Hunt Web Map
Go to hunt.onxmaps.com on your computer and log in to your account.

Open My Content
Click My Content from the side menu on the left side of your screen.

Click the Three Dots Menu
At the top of the My Content panel, click the ... (three dots) menu, then click Export.

Select & Export
Select the items you want to export, or click Select All. Then click Export at the very bottom. Choose GPX as the format and click Save.
The .gpx file is saved to your Downloads folder.

Import to RidgeLine
Go to getdriftline.com/import, sign in, and drag your GPX file onto the page. Preview your waypoints and tracks, then click Import.
Your data appears in the RidgeLine app on your phone instantly. No file transfer needed.

Common Questions

Will I lose any waypoints during the transfer?
No. Every waypoint with a custom name transfers with its exact coordinates, icon type, and color. RidgeLine also detects duplicates automatically so you won't get double entries if you import twice.
What about my photos attached to waypoints?
Unfortunately, onX does not include photos in their export files. This is an onX limitation, not a RidgeLine one. Your waypoint locations, names, and icons all transfer perfectly. You can re-attach photos to any waypoint in RidgeLine after importing.
Do I need a computer to switch?
No. The entire process happens on your phone. Export from onX, import into RidgeLine. No desktop, no conversion tools, no email.
Does RidgeLine work offline?
Yes. Download topo maps and key data before you head out. The app is built for dead zones and backcountry hunts where cell service doesn't reach.
What states does RidgeLine cover?
RidgeLine currently covers Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, California, and Arizona with deep state-specific data including regulations, GMU boundaries, controlled hunt draw odds, fish stocking, and more. Additional states are being added regularly.
Can I import from other apps too?
Yes. RidgeLine imports standard GPX files, so any app that exports GPX works — including Gaia GPS, CalTopo, Avenza, Garmin, and more.
Do I have to cancel onX first?
No. You can run both apps side by side as long as you want. Many users import their data first, try RidgeLine for a few hunts, then cancel onX when they're comfortable. No pressure.
